November 2:   Beach Haven Borough Hall Grand Opening

Join the Beach Haven Mayor and Council members at the grand opening of the township’s new Brough Hall from 2pm to 4pm.

November 3: Science Saturday at LBIF

Join us for an informational presentation with James Occi, Center for Vector Biology, Department of Entomology, Rutgers University as he focuses on the topic: Is That a Tick on You? He will explore questions like: How many species of tick are present in new Jersey? Are there ticks on LBI? From 11am to 12:30pm.

November 7: More about SALT!

Learn more about the new SALT unit of the Barnegat Light First Aid Squad and how you can participate. Particularly surfers, lifeguards, and avid watermen & women. Located at the Barnegat Light Fire House from 7pm to 8pm.

November 13 Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding

Wheel Throwing and Handbuilding with Jeff Ruemeli. Begin or expand your skills in the ceramics studio. Center, pull, shape and trim pots on the wheel or concentrate on handbuilding techniques. Students may create projects using one or both techniques. More advanced students will be encourages to design projects in the direction of their choice. Bring an old towel and a large plastic bowl. Wear old clothes with closed-toe shoes. Material fee of $25-$27 per bag of clay payable to LBIF.

November 14: Investing On Long Beach Island

Discuss strategies to maximize rental investment income, Q&A facilitated by Richard Dodd. This event begins at 6pm.

November 14: LBI Woodcarvers Meeting

The club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Tip Seaman County Park from February to November. Meetings include show and tell, discussions and demonstrations. All skill levels welcome. Call Ian Davies at 609-618-5735 for more information, or better yet, attend a meeting!

November 14: Free Night of Painting

Join St. Francis Counseling Service from 6:30pm  to 8:30 pm for a free night of painting while also learning about various sexual violence resources available.

November 15: Afterschool STEAM at the Long Beach Island Library

Activities will strengthen social, mental and fine motor development. Dress for a mess. Ages 6-10. Event begins at 4pm.

November 16: Books at the Beach

A Book Club for Kids – Once a month this club will be held for children beginning at 3:30pm. Kids will do activities based on provided text and are sent home with their own book. Juice and snacks provided. Suggested for reading levels 5th grade & up. 

November 17: Christmas Craft Show

Make the St. Francis Community Center Annual Christmas Craft Show your first stop for all Christmas gift needs. The event runs from 9:30am to 2pm and highlights crafts such as holiday items, homemade baskets, homemade jam, jewelry, many forms of art, shell and metal crafts, baby gifts, pottery, crochet and knitted items etc.

November 23-24: Baby It’s Chili Outside

This is a chili & sea glass event. Enjoy the chili cook-off on Saturday and shop for Christmas gifts all weekend. This event runs from 10am to 4pm each day.

November 24: Thanks 4 Giving 5K & 1 Mile

This annual 5k and new 1 mile event runs from 8am to 10:30am. More information here Hunger Foundation Of Southern Ocean

November 24: Small Business Saturday
