Are you going to be on the island next month and want to know what happening? Check out our list of just a fraction of the events and activities that Long Beach Island has to offer locals and visitors alike.
December 1: 39th Annual Christmas Parade
Join Ship bottom for their 39th Annual Christmas Parade. Kicking off in front of Ship Bottom Borough Hall at 1pm, crowds will be greeted by marching bands, floats, antique cars, and Santa himself!
December 5-16: ELF The Musical
You can’t miss the Surflight Theatre’s rendition of the popular holiday movie “Elf” being showcased throughout this month. Tickets are on sale now. $39.00 for adults and $29.00 for children under 12.
December 8: Cookie Wars 2018
Do you see yourself as a cookie connoisseur? Perfect. Bay Village & Schooner’s Wharf need you to take part in their annual Cookies War. Guests will taste and judge who has the best sugar cookies in the village. The tasting last from 11am to 2pm (or while supply lasts). voting takes place at Country Kettle Fudge. Dozens of shops have entered, but you decide who wins.
December 8: Dog Parade
Join Beach Haven for their annual holiday dog parade. Participants can meet up at Veterans Memorial Park and should be there by Noon. The event is scheduled to run from 12pm-3pm.
December 15: Polar Express Event
The Ocean County Library located in Surf City will host “All Aboard The Polar Express” from 11am to 1pm. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite PJ’s while enjoying story time with the conductor, a cooking lesson, and sing alongs with the Polar Express crew. There’s even word that a special guest will make an appearance and the crew have milk and cookies waiting his arrival. Caregivers need not register, but are asked to register children.
December 28: Family Pajama Story Time
Join the Ocean County Library in Surf City in your PJ’s again for story time and wintery craft making from 10am to 11am. Please register children ahead of event.
December 31: New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Looking for some kid friendly fun this New Years Eve? The 2nd Annual Ship Bottom Bash NYE won’t disappoint. Check out the Breaker Bazaar for plenty of fun-filled activities for the whole family. The fun begins at noon and doesn’t stop until the clock strikes 12. Adults can enjoy live music from Face Down and Funk Schway starting at 9pm. This event will be located at the Ship Bottom Firehouse.
